So, You've Launched Your Brand. Now What?
I commonly say, "Branding is a steady jog, not a sprint." What I mean by this is branding does not mean posting all the variations of your new logo and a link to your new website during a 1-week stint and sitting back expecting clients to rush in.
Your business will not magically become a brand in 1 week
A successful brand is consistently producing content and services of value. A good friend once told me, "The quality of your input is based on the quality of your output." If you want better clients, you have to put the work in to give better value.
Here are 3 super simple actions you can take today to build routines that will consistently and cohesively increase your brand awareness:
GET iNTO a SOCiaL MEDia POSTiNG rHYTHM
Radical truth: most of your people will find you or look you up on social media before ever clicking through to your website. Although you still need a website (yes, you do!) it's important to dedicate intention to your social media. Notice how I said intention, not time.
Create a simple plan of what you want to post and spend less time fidgeting with these apps.
Choose 1 social media platform and use all its features to the best of your abilities.
Pick how many days, and which days, you'll be posting. And choose up to 3 types of valuable content you'll publish. (For example, I post on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and share 1) my work, 2) branding tips, 3) testimonials.)
Repeat, repeat, repeat. And trust the process.
it takes a village to build a brand...network
Brand awareness comes from telling freaking everyone what you do and why you're so passionate about it. I don't want to hear, "How can I network when I excuse, excuse, excuse?" For example, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, when in-person networking came to a halt, I attended more virtual workshops and community events in 8 months than in the past 8 years. There are plenty of online and in-person events and itβs easier now than ever to meet new people outside of your local community. Be an active participant in the Zoom chat window, present yourself and ask questions during the Q&A section, and connect with people you meet at these events by messaging them directly. Heck, create your own networking event! The world is your oyster.
schedule routine brand reviews in your calendar
Y'all, you gotta track what's happening in your business. And it doesn't have to be in a fancy manner. I literally have a rinky-dink spreadsheet where I track all my clients, how they found me, what they hired me for, and how much they paid. With this information, I have been able to tweak my services, pricing, and sales pitch so that I'm progressing on my goals. I also pay attention to what part of my brand identity (colors, logos, graphic elements) I use the most and what I could add to make my brand even more dynamic.
Bonus Tip: hire me for a brand consulting call and we can evaluate your brand together.
